Velvet Amnesia I was born and raised in the country outside of Kitchener, Ontario, and graduated from the University of Waterloo with a degree in English literature. Not looking to settle down, I flew to South Korea to teach and travel. It was here, in the towering metropolis of Seoul, that I shed a few inhibitions and began to write poetry. After leaving South Korea, I spent some time driving across Canada and living in Vancouver, British Columbia. I am back in Kitchener and, at the age of 24, looking forward to pursuing a career as a writer. My experiences, and those of the people with whom I am in direct and indirect contact, are under the scrutiny of my muse. I ponder and I write; sometimes the flow is cathartic. When speaking my mind does not suffice, I write my mind as a form of self-expression and liberation.
